BG Trip 2014

November 22nd, 2014

Summer of 2014 brought only one session – but, I might say a pretty good one. This was also likely the last session for my faithful Canon 5D which is now retired. Way to go with a bang!

BG Trip 2012

November 22nd, 2014

I have been lazy lately with keeping the page up to date. No doubt not due to lack of desire, time has been at a premium as of late.
Though the summer of 2012 seems to have been pretty productive. Enjoy the pictures from the sessions.

Special Edition – Best of Nudes 2011

January 14th, 2012

With the winter setting in there was finally time to sit on and review the files from the last few years. After several days the final selection was made as same pictures started repeatedly showing up in my review process. I like to think of this collection as my best attempt at what I enjoy in photography, hope you like it too.

Summer BG Trip 2010 – Part II

September 17th, 2010

This post is from my trip in south-west Bulgaria. The shots are taken in Blagoevgrad, Rojen monastery, Melnik and Vrania. I think the BW look well matches the surroundings and sets an unique mood.

Summer BG Trip 2010 – Part I

September 17th, 2010

This summer was a little hectic and yielded only one model session. Since the heat was unbearable we had to introduce some water – no way around it. Enjoy!

Samyang Fisheye: Great Panoramas

October 13th, 2009

Samyang, thank you. This $290 8mm fisheye lens renders beautiful panorama pictures in a few shots, I do 6 portrait orientated around, one zenith and nadir on Nodal Ninja head. Since I’m using this lens on Canon 5D I needed to shave the lens hood, but it is not a big deal to do this. After the “surgery” it allows you to get nice shot on the full frame sensor. While the lens has no electronic contacts and is 100% manual I don’t find this one bit a problem for panorama pictures. Just set the aperture at f 11 and focus at 2-3 meters: everything gets a good depth of field. Here are a few shots from Chicago area, this will give you some samples. Also, be sure to check the virtual tour.

Summer 2009 shots from Varna (part I)

September 3rd, 2009

This year’s photo trip yielded some interesting backgrounds (and foregrounds as well) like those shipyards and lakes. I had a lot of fun with the model taking these shots and so was the case for all the nearby fishermen. One of them actually pulled a point and shoot, talking about competition…
Anyway I hope you enjoy these shots as much as I did taking them.

Chicago & Varna in pictures

February 6th, 2009

This post is with few panoramas and normal shots from Chicago and Varna area. Pictures are taken at various times within the last one year. Cameras involved are Canon XTi, 5D and Bronica ETRSi. From Chicago we have panoramas from the bridges over Chicago river, a view from Hancock Tower, downtown morning view and an HDR attempt. I’m stressing that it is attempt, as I feel HDR is interesting but will require a bit more time to master well. For really cool HDR work visit Rosita’s site in the links section. From Bulgaria I have view of Varna bay, Tulenovo and Kara Dere panoramas. Enjoy!

Film & Strobe Fun

February 2nd, 2009

The other night I wanted to try some film flash photography. I loaded my Bronica with some Kodak TMAX we made a small photo session in my home studio. As I don’t have a flash meter I used my Canon 5D to judge the exposure by. Interestingly all of my film shots came out better than the digital ones or at least I like them better. Here are the top picks.

Caribbean Adventures

February 2nd, 2009

Last year I was fortunate to be able to take a glimpse of the exotic West Caribbean. Needless to say that I started planning on how to get back there before I even left the tropical waters.

Exotic Panoramas from the Caribbean

February 1st, 2009

The Caribbean is such a wonderful location for exotic pictures. It really takes a talent to take a bad photo on that spot. Today I’m posting a few panoramas from my trip.

Summer BG Sessions

February 1st, 2009

Last summer on my trip to BG I took some photo opportunities that came along. I was fortunate to get to shoot with some other photographers and models. In reality this helped me to get a feel of what’s possible in both open and indoor spaces.
